Special Needs Advocacy

Discover Knowledge, Experience and Compassion

Not every child has an equal talent or an equal ability or an equal motivation, but children have the equal right to develop their talent, their ability and their motivation.” — John F. Kennedy

Can I Afford to Engage an Advocate?

Can you afford not to engage an advocate? Consider the options available below that best serve your needs. Some parents prefer to keep a hands-on approach with their school district, but may need some assistance with drafting correspondence, requesting IEEs, or writing an appropriate IEP to meet their child’s needs.  In these cases, engaging an advocate behind-the-scenes can give you the ammunition you need by preparing cogent and powerful communications on your behalf, while you still remain “front-facing” with your child’s educators.  In essence, the parent is leveraging the advocate’s knowledge of the law and legal process, but is also able to keep costs at a minimum. On the other hand, some parents prefer to have an advocate engage directly with their child’s educators on their behalf. In either scenario, you control the financial cost of retaining and maintaining your advocate.
